Statement on the Occasion of the Assyrian Journalism Day and Announcing the Decision on the Official Broadcast of Assyria Parliament TV channel on Internet
On the first of November of each year, the Assyrian people renew their promise to give to all mankind. On this day, the Assyrian people rise and prove to the world once again that Assyrian People are still spreading the culture as they did thousands of years ago.
Today is the Assyrian Journalism Day, the one hundred and seventy-third anniversary of the founding of the Assyrian journalism, with the launch of the first issue of the Zahrireh d’Bahra (Rays of Light) newspaper, which was published in Urmia in 1849.
The Assyrian people were and still are among the first in spreading culture to the whole world. They are the heirs of their ancestors who built civilization and spread science and culture around the globe, from which man on earth continues to benefit in various aspects of life to this day.
On this occasion, we extend, in the Supreme Body for Establishing the Parliament of the Land of Assyria, our warmest congratulations to the Assyrian nation on the 173rd anniversary of the founding of the Assyrian Journalism, and coinciding with this great national occasion, we take the opportunity to announce to the Assyrian nation the decision on the official broadcast of the Assyria Parliament TV on the official website of the Supreme Body for Establishing the Parliament of the Land of Assyria www.assyriaparliament.com, which was established in order to spread the idea of working to establish a democratic leadership for the Assyrian people by establishing the Parliament of the Land of Assyria to be the supreme authority and the legitimate representative of the Assyrian nation everywhere.
We congratulate all of our Assyrian people and organizations around the world on the Assyrian Journalism Day, and we renew the invitation to all to engage in work and participate in the national democratic wedding adopted by the Supreme Body for Establishing the Parliament of the Land of Assyria, which will guarantee the future of the Assyrian nation and the future of its upcoming generations.
