Invitation Declaration of the Assyrian Parliament
We, the representatives of the Assyrian people, gathered and elected from across the world at this historic international conference, do solemnly declare the establishment of the Assyrian Parliament as the unified voice of our nation.
This Parliament stands as a beacon of hope for our people, dispersed across many lands, yet bound together by a shared identity, heritage, and destiny.
For centuries, the Assyrian nation has endured persecution, forcible displacement, and systematic attempts to erase our presence. Today, these injustices persist in our ancestral homeland, where our people continue to face ongoing dispossession, marginalization, and denial of their rights. Despite such oppression, our resilience and faith have enabled us to preserve—and continue to preserve—our language, culture, and traditions against all odds. It is therefore our solemn duty, as representatives of the Assyrian people, to ensure that this Parliament stands as the necessary and rightful response to these ongoing injustices, guaranteeing that the voice of our nation is heard, respected, and upheld.
By adopting our bylaws and electing the first members of the Assyrian Parliament, we take a decisive step toward safeguarding our national rights, preserving our heritage, and striving for a future rooted in dignity, justice, and self-determination.
The Assyrian Parliament is dedicated to:
- Representing the collective voice and aspirations of the Assyrian people worldwide.
- Defending the political, cultural, and human rights of our nation in our ancestral homeland and in the diaspora.
- Preserving and revitalizing the Assyrian language, history, and cultural identity.
- Promoting unity, democracy, and cooperation among Assyrians of all backgrounds.
- Building partnerships with governments, international organizations, and civil society to advance peace, justice, and recognition of the Assyrian nation.
We affirm that the establishment of the Assyrian Parliament is not merely an institutional step but a moral duty to our martyrs, our ancestors, and to future generations of Assyrians who deserve to live in freedom, dignity, and security.
