We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist act that targeted the esteemed Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel in the city of Sydney, Australia. We call on the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures to uncover the details of the terrorist attack and what drove the terrorist to enter the church and stab the bishop during the sermon.

This terrorist act not only targets the Assyrian community but also threatens the security and peace in Australia and the free world as a whole

Here, we call on all our Assyrian people to maintain unity and resilience in these challenging circumstances, and to not allow terrorism to disrupt our unity and divide us. We have confidence in our people’s ability to overcome challenges and transcend them through solidarity, cooperation, and unity.

We extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel and all those injured, and we reaffirm our unwavering support for them during these challenging times.
